Cherry Play has named Olga Bajela as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and formed a strategic partnership with Bragg Gaming Group to support its imminent launch.
New Leadership at Cherry Play
Olga Bajela, formerly Chief Commercial Officer at Stakelogic, will lead Cherry Play as CEO. Bajela’s role will involve overseeing the studio’s launch, which will feature a distinctive no-revenue-share commercial model. Instead of sharing revenue, operators will pay a fixed licence fee to integrate Cherry Play’s gaming content.
During her tenure at Stakelogic, Bajela contributed to the platform’s €130 million (£110 million/$133 million) sale to Sega Sammy. Her prior experience includes positions at SoftGamings, ELKO Group, and Advaita International.
Expressing enthusiasm for her new role, Bajela stated:
“Having helped build and sell Stakelogic, I’m now ready to take on a new challenge. I couldn’t be happier to have been appointed as CEO of Cherry Play. Innovation covers so much more than game mechanics, and with our unique commercial model, I am confident we are going to disrupt the slot provision space.”
Partnership with Bragg Gaming Group
Cherry Play has partnered with Bragg Gaming Group, which will serve as its exclusive technology and distribution partner. This collaboration ensures Cherry Play’s games will be built on Bragg’s technology stack. The partnership will facilitate the studio’s distribution strategy, offering its gaming content to operators globally.
The first two slot titles from Cherry Play are set to launch this week. The studio’s library will eventually expand to include a variety of slot and casino games tailored to different markets.
Matevz Mazij, CEO and chairman of Bragg Gaming Group, highlighted the importance of this partnership:
“The Cherry Play team’s extensive experience of the Netherlands regulated market will undoubtedly benefit Bragg as we continue to expand our strong position in that market. Our new partnership with Cherry Play will also allow us to offer some great new online casino content, not only to our Dutch operator partners but also to operators in the wider European and RoW markets.”
Bajela added:
“Cherry Play is here to make an impact, and we can’t wait to launch our first title.”
Impact and Future Prospects
This partnership and Cherry Play’s innovative approach to revenue modelling signal potential disruption in the online gaming industry. The studio’s focus on localisation and collaboration with Bragg Gaming Group positions it as a noteworthy player in the European and global markets.
